Maths - Nets.
(Due in on Monday 23rd of April.)
This week, I would like you to use the skills on 3D shape & Nets which we have examined in maths. You are to:
Create a Net for packaging to contain a product of your choice - It could be anything from: A sweet packet to a Pizza box! - You should create (if possible) a model using the materials and constructions we have studied - if you are successful, the model (however humble, or grand!) should successfully contain the product you have chosen. Use all the skills you have been employing over the past week in school. You must Show aspects of the individual Net - i.e. faces, edges, vertices, flaps for construction.

Lastly... If you are not having fun, or are not totally absorbed by what you are attempting, stop, think and try another approach. If learning isn't fun, it isn't worth doing. Good Luck.
IMAGERY / DESCRIPTION.
This week, I would like you to use the skills on description and imagery which we have examined in Literacy. You are to:
Stage one (easier) - choose your most precious possession. Sit and study it carefully, think about how it looks, smells, feels, sounds and if relevant, tastes... Now, without mentioning it's title or name once, create a holographic description / image of it. You should write two detailed paragraphs describing it - if you are successful, when read out, the listener should be able to identify your mystery possession. Use all the skills you have been employing over the past two weeks in school. You must use 5S's, comparisons, personification & similes!
Stage two (harder) - place your most precious possession in a setting. Sit and study it carefully, think about how the setting looks, smells, feels, sounds and if relevant, tastes... Now, without mentioning the setting or name once, create a holographic description / image of the setting. You should write several detailed paragraphs describing it - if you are successful, when read out, the listener should be able to identify your mystery setting. Use all the skills you have been employing over the past two weeks in school. You must use the 5W's, 5S's, analogies, comparisons, rhetorical questions, personification, similes & metaphors!
