World Book Day - 2/3/17
We all had great fun on World Book Day. We got to dress up as book characters and parade out outfirs in front of the school. We worked with a 'buddy' to plan a story involving our characters and then share some books together. We loved it.
We have loved working in our new classroom this week. We have a lovely writing area, a maths area, a comfortable reflection area and lots of new games to play with in our own time. Many thanks to the PTA for giving us some money to help make the classroom our own.
Literacy w/c 20.2.17
This week we have been looking at how to write different sentences.
We looked at two books:
We looked at how some sentences are written all in capital letters, some have an exclamation mark at the end.
We also discussed verbs and how we could use these in a sentence.
We had some great ideas. See if we can remember any of them.
Maths - 7.2.17
Today we looked at a venn diagram and how we can use one to sort numbers. We played a good sorting game on the SmartBoard. You can play this at home by clicking on the link below.
We then created our own venn diagram. We sorted number cards out by deciding whether they were odd or even. Then we sorted cards higher or lower than a number.

Non-Fiction - Nocturnal Animals
This week we have been looking at where we can find information about Nocturnal animals. We wrote down some questions we had about nocturnal animals, remembering to use a question mark. We used non-fiction books and the internet to find some of the answers to our questions.
Here is the link to a website that we found really useful http://www.ictgames.com/topic/nocturnal/
Literacy - w/c 9th January 2017
This week we have been looking at a traditional tale from a different country. The story is called Anancy and Mr Dry-Bone. We acted the story out in groups and had great fun. We also wrote our own version of the story with new characters, remembering to start names with a capital letter. Ask us to retell the story to see if we can remember it.
Worm Poems - w/c 17th October 2016
This week we have been looking at worm poems. We memorised one in a group and read it out loud to the rest of the class. We also copied a poem out in neat, paying attention to where the capital letters and full stops come in a poem. We discussed all the words that were used to describe worms and then wrote our own worm poems using some of the words we found were repeated a lot.
Here are the poems we looked at -
