PTA

Welcome to the PTA section.

Throughout the year the PTA organise a range of events intended to support the social side of school life for both the children and their parents whilst at the same time raising valuable funds.

These funds provide resources the school would not otherwise be able to access.

In previous years we have hosted events including:

  • Children's discos
  • Family quizzes
  • Beetle drives
  • Book fairs
  • Ice cream sales
  • Spring lunch
  • Cheese and wine tasting evening
  • Hot Chocolate sales
  • The very popular Christmas and Summer fairs

We also assist in co-ordinating Mother’s and Father’s day gifts and offer prizes for Easter Gardens. Our budding junior master chefs have even published a Stowting School recipe book which sold out before going to print!

As a result of this fund-raising we have been able to assist the school in the purchase of substantial IT items such as interactive Smartboards, laptop trolleys, playground equipment and playground markings, reception bikes, a school cooker, books and much more besides as well as part funding school trips and leaver’s presents.

With government funding becoming ever more stretched the PTA’s role has never been more vital. As a voluntary organisation and registered charity we rely heavily on the generosity of parents, friends, grandparents and our village neighbours as well as sponsorship by businesses. Indeed none of the events could take place without the enthusiastic help of lots of volunteers co-ordinated by the PTA committee.

To this end we would love to hear from you if you have a skill or idea that might benefit the school.

More importantly we are always looking to recruit willing volunteers and helpers who can assist at these events (if only just to help with the washing up!) or indeed to join the PTA committee. We really are a friendly bunch who share the common goal of looking for ways to enhance all of the children's learning experience at this lovely village school.

If you are able to help then please contact one of our Committee members or leave you name at the School Office.

Yours sincerely

PTA Chairman
